"These suits are sleek, not stuffy in the slightest, and yet, I could still swim a few laps in the pool if I really wanted."
| | | | | | I've Worn This Swimwear Brand's One-Piece Suits for Four Years, and My Love Hasn't Swayed | Growing up, I was a competitive swimmer, which means my hair constantly smelled like chlorine, I spent my weekends in high school gymnasiums waiting to swim two laps in a pool, and I was no stranger to one-pieces. My bathing suits were pretty much all Speedos—either in a tie-dye print or more of a splatter paint style—and rarely were they monochromatic. After years of that, the only bathing suits I wanted to wear were two-piece suits. Whatever would help me mentally shift from 4 x 500s to enjoying a beach day. Then I discovered Andie swimwear one-piece suits, and my mind was totally changed. I tried out The Montauk and The Catalina, and four years later my love hasn't swayed. Both are incredibly comfortable to wear all day long—or all week long, if you're spending most of your vacation at the beach. Plus, they offer enough support for me to run to catch the ice cream truck before it leaves. Both suits have weathered days in saltwater and freshwater, and haven't faded in the slightest. I went with black and navy, but Andie makes bright red or white suits, too. These suits are sleek, not stuffy in the slightest, and yet, I could still swim a few laps in the pool if I really wanted. I'm so sold on the idea of one-pieces that I've since bought this one-piece from Onia (the fabric is softer than any bathing suit I've ever worn), and am thinking about this Ruffle Oasis from Summersalt to prep for summer 2021. While it's been years since I've trained competitively, I don't think I'll ever abandon my one-pieces again.
And to help make your bathing suit shopping and beach planning a little easier, I rounded up our favorite suits, the best brands to check out, and all the accessories you'll need for some time in the sun this summer.
